Mark Seliger Editorial Portraits
Editorial Portraits: Mark Seliger

Mark Seliger is my second favorite photographer. His portrait work makes me think of him as a modern-day Richard Avedon (who, coincidentally,  is my favorite photographer). My favorite part about his work is how he captures personailty, and the many ways he uses color and light.

Andrea Massari Editorial Fashion

Editorial Fashion: Andrea Massari

The first group of shots on Andrea Massari’s fashion page (example above) is beautiful. His fashion work is some of the best and most original I have seen, but his other collections are just as stong or stronger. I highly encourage everyone to take a look.

Isaac Alongi Editorial Events
Editorial Events: Isaac Alongi

It was difficult for me to find an “Editorial Events” photographer, so I focused primarily on weddings.
I met Isaac Alongi when I was three years old (far before I picked up a camera), but my first memory of him is taking photos for my church. When I decided to pursue photography, I contacted Isaac to talk shop. He showed me a wedding he had just finished shooting, and it blew me away. He is far and beyond my favorite wedding photographer. He always captures the essence of the wedding and takes the shots no one else would think about.

The following are screen grabs from three AMSP Atlanta photographers who have shot Editorial Sports, Health Care, and Food.

Sports- Stanley Leary

Sports Photographer:  Stanley Leary
Stanley Leary’s sports shots all show a great amount of emotion in the action of the play and the face of the athlete, which seems to be his primary goal. All of the photos on his website have a clearly visible face and discernible action.

Healthcare- Pete Winkel

Health care Photographer: Pete Winkel
All the photos on Pete Winkel’s Health Care page, save the one displayed, focus primarily on the subject’s face and emotion.

Food- Daemon Baizan

Food Photographer: Daemon Baizan
Most of Daemon Baizan’s food work has continuous elements that connect the photos. His use of angle and selective focus bring the images together, even if they are vastly different subjects.

Hello,

My name is Hannah Brewer, or “Habrew”. As of now I am hoping (dream of dreams) to some day work as a commercial portrait photographer for a magazine like Rolling Stone or Vanity Fair. Currently I’m a little fixed on Richard Avedon’s work. I have completed two shoots using his “white background” style, and plan to do at least two more before New Year’s.

I shot the above image during my high school’s production of “Sweet Charity”.
